Aaron Friesen
Portland Seminary Project Faculty, Director at Storyline Kids
Eugene, Oregon
I have served in a variety of roles as a local church pastor and college instructor for the past fourteen years. I am currently a Project Faculty member in the Doctor of Leadership in Global Perspectives program at Portland Seminary and co-director of the children’s ministry at CitySalt Church in Eugene, Oregon. I also teach adjunct undergraduate and graduate courses in Bible, theology and ministry at Bushnell University and Life Pacific University.
I earned a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary (2006) and a PhD in Theology from the University of Wales (2011) in the UK. I am also a member of the Sixth Ecclesial Theologian Fellowship at the Center for Pastor Theologians.
My wife, Heather, and I joined forces to found a nonprofit called StoryLine Kids in 2022. Storyline Kids seeks to provide churches effective curriculum, training and support for the faith formation of children through the integration of emerging tools, strategies, and best practices in elementary education with Christian teaching that is holistic, inclusive and oriented toward acts of social justice and reconciliation in a community.
